Self - Take me to the Internet Cafe. _____
Driver - OK. Are you going on the internet today? _____
Self - Yes, I want to find out how to make a web page. _____
Driver - At the top of any web page just tap view source. _____
Self - Do you know how to make web pages? _____
Driver - Yes. I can make simple web pages. _____
Self - Can you tell me how? _____
Driver - There a few things you must do exactly right. _____
Self - OK. I will write it down. _____
Driver - Good idea. First, right click on the desktop. _____
Self - OK. _____
Driver - Left click, New Folder . _____
Self - That will create a new folder on the desktop. _____
Driver - Open the basic word-processor Notepad. Self - Where is Notepad? Driver - Left Click, Start, Programs, Accessories, Notepad. Self - OK. So now I have a word-processor. _____
Driver - At the top of Notepad, click File, Save As. _____
Self - OK. There is a dialogue box. _____
Driver - Click the little down arrow. _____
Self - OK. I see a lot of folders. _____
Driver - Click your New Folder name. _____
Self - OK. Now I am saving this file to New Folder _____
Driver - Very good. Now, Type, Test.htm and tap enter. _____
Self - OK. File saved. _____
Driver - On your desktop, double click your New Folder. _____
Self - OK. That is where my Test.htm should be. Correct? _____
Driver - Yes. Double click it. _____
Self - That will open my Test.htm file. _____
Driver - Yes, but there isn't anything in it yet. _____
Self - So far this has been basic Window's stuff. _____
Driver - Now we begin the fun HTML part. _____
Self - HTML is fun? _____
Driver - Yes, it is like doing magic tricks. _____
Self - Show me. _____
Driver - First we must do a little more set up. _____
Self - OK. _____
Driver - Type, Test. This is a Taxi Talk. _____
Self - OK. _____
Driver - Then click File, Save. _____
Self - If I clicked Test.htm file now it show that? Right? _____
Driver - Right. But, all good commands in HTML are within angle brackets. _____
Self - Oh. Like Shift-comma and Shift-period, on the keyboard. _____
Driver - You are very smart. _____
Self - Thank You. _____
Driver - In Notepad, type a left-angle in front of the word Test. _____
Self - OK. _____
Driver - Then type H1 and a right-angle. _____
Self - OK. _____
Driver - Then right after the word Test type a left-angle. _____
Self - OK. _____
Driver - Then a slash, H1 and a right-angle. _____
Self - What is the slash? _____
Driver - You start HTML commands between the left and right angle brackets. _____
Self - And you stop the commands with the slash. _____
Driver - Yes, Left-angle then type the command you want to stop right after a slash, and then a right-angle. _____
Self - How many commands are there? _____
Driver - Over a hundred, but with a few you can do a lot. _____
Self - I would like to show a picture. _____
Driver - OK. Drag and drop a GIF file onto your test folder. _____
Self - Where can I find a GIF file. _____
Driver - Go to Start, Find, Files and type GIF. _____
Self - That will find a lot of GIF files. _____
Driver - Yes. Now hold down the Control key and drag and drop one onto your New Files folder. _____
Self - How about CLOUD.gif? _____
Driver - That sounds like a good one. Self - I see it in the folder. Driver - In Notpad type left-angle img src equals double quote CLOUD.gif double quote right-angle. _____
Self - That is harder to say than it is to type. _____
Driver - Left-click File, Save, and then click Test.htm in your folder. _____
Self - Wow, a picture. _____
Driver - You can take any picture off of the internet by right clicking it. _____
Self - And then put it on my test page. _____
Driver - Yes. Just by dragging the file into your New Folder and typing img src equals and its name within the angle brackets. _____
