This Probaway is intended to help people take equipment which is sometimes difficult to understand and operate and show a simple operational chart structure which is easily visualized, comprehended and remembered.

The maps provided are intended for you to use but perhaps more importantly to encourage you to create new and useful maps of your equipment to post to the web for others to find and use.

These maps must be used with caution, of course, because they have been tested in only one device application in a field where there is currently considerable innovation.

Flow charts should:
• Be structured in a clear and logical way.
• Be useful for the user without any usless clutter.
• Give warning when a decision point will be encountered.
• Be visually clear and bold.
• Have the most important things the most obvious.
• Be stated in a direct and authoritative way.
• Give clear single step directions away from every location.
• Have the controls clearly associated with their effects.
• Give the user time to consider proper responses.
• Give easy corrective go-back options after every choice point.
• Eliminate deadends, slow detours and empty promises.
